Our Guitar tutor

Stuart’s passion for guitar began at the age of 11, setting the stage for a dedicated career in music and education. After pursuing formal music studies at Aberdeen College from 1995 to 1997, he embarked on a 20-year tenure as a full-time guitar and bass tutor at Chalmers Mackay Music School. This extensive experience provided him with invaluable insights into effective teaching methodologies and the diverse needs of students.

In 2020, an exciting opportunity arose when the lease of the Aberdeen Centre became available. Stuart seized this chance to establish his own venture, founding “Dee St Music Tuition.” This transition marked a significant milestone, allowing him to fully realize his vision for music education.

Stuart is a highly versatile and experienced musician with a genuine enthusiasm for working with students of all ages, backgrounds, and musical tastes. He embraces a wide range of musical styles, ensuring that lessons are engaging and relevant to each individual’s preferences. A cornerstone of his teaching philosophy is strong communication. He believes that open and consistent dialogue with students is essential for fostering progress and maintaining motivation. Lessons are carefully tailored to meet individual learning styles, goals, and musical interests.

Throughout his time as a guitar tutor, Stuart has maintained an impressive 100% exam pass rate for his students, a testament to his dedication and effective teaching methods. Demonstrating his own commitment to musical excellence, he also achieved a Grade 8 distinction with Rockschool during this period. This personal achievement not only showcases his advanced playing abilities but also provides a tangible example of what students can achieve with focused practice and guidance.
